The Biggest-sounding Blues Junior Yet — in Lacquered Tweed

With their Blues Junior IV 15-watt, 1 x 12" combo, Fender found a way to take one of the most popular all-tube amplifiers of all time and make it even better. You'll still find the same conveniently giggable size, pedal-friendly character, and ideal volume that make the line so successful. Yet with its tweaked preamp for a larger tonality, upgraded Eminence Red White and Blues 12" speaker, smoother-sounding reverb, and fashionable aesthetics, this Fender Blues Junior IV is sure to become a legend of its own.

A truly legendary combo

Players of all styles and genres have been leaning on Fender Blues Junior all-tube combo amplifiers for years. Their ability to coax American cleans and thick drive from their EL84 power sections allows them to fit within any rig. They are also incredible platforms for players who utilize effects to achieve their tones. But perhaps the most attractive thing about the Fender Blues Junior IV and previous models is the way Fender crammed the perfect amount of power into a combo that is affordable, lightweight, compact, and extremely easy to gig with.

Familiar tone with a bigger attitude

The Blues Junior has always been known for great tones. Yet to make the Junior IV stand out from previous iterations of the model, Fender tweaked the preamp to deliver a fuller sound that is far in excess of the amplifier's compact dimensions. As you turn the amplifier up, you'll notice the lows stay full, the mids can be as assertive or as mellow as you need, and the top still sings with the familiar American-voiced chime. Not only that, but you'll control it all with the same easy-to-navigate top panel controls as before. Great sounding and simple to use. Can't ask for more than that.

A few added tonal sweeteners

The preamp tweaks in the Blues Junior IV already take it into boutique-tone territory. But Fender didn't stop there. They also worked on the amplifier's spring reverb circuit, smoothing out its tone. This allows you to crank it into surfy territory without losing any tonal detail. But the update that has grabbed Sweetwater guitarists' attention the most is the addition of an Eminence Red White and Blues 12" speaker. The Red White and Blues offers a classic American voice with tight low end, smooth midrange, and truckloads of top-end sparkle. You'll love how responsive and articulate this amp is — every nuance of your playing will ring through loud and clear.

Awesome little amp

I was looking for an amp smaller than my Mesa Boogie head on 2 stacked single 12" cabinets. I tried a used Blues Jr with a different speaker in my local store and liked the sound. So - I put a couple different models in my Sweetwater wish list.
¿ WHAT ? Price Drop !! I'm good at math - I'll take mine now...
I am Very Happy with this amp. The Red, White and Blues speaker sounds Awesome and the lacquered tweed is just beautiful...
A big Thank You to my Sweetwater Rep Mike Wright for answering all my questions and for the follow up calls after I buy something.

Perfection

I love this amp I love it I love it I love it. I don't have any awesome technical know-how or extensive pros and cons to share, it just sounds spectacular and I feel like a rock goddess when I play my strat now. There, that's it - be a rock goddess and get ye this amp!

I sound like a rock goddess now...

Okay, maybe my playing isn't rock goddess level, but this amp sounds great regardless. I am using this in my house, and yes, it is possible to play a tube amp with your husband at work in the next room and not disturb him. Of course, when he's off work I am now able to disturb him and the neighbors (yay! our neighbors are THE WORST). The difference in tone between the Blues Jr and my modeling amp is night and day. I was never able to dial in tone on the Boss Katana MKII that I had that sounded as rich and full as this.

(The strat I'm playing is a Fender 2018 American Elite with pure vintage '59 pickups. I actually plugged my Taylor 214CE plus into this amp and it sounded pretty sweet too!)
Music background: waiting for my chance to play with Pearl Jam...

Best tube amp for the price

Ok so I originally purchased a 57' custom champ which I really liked but I exchanged it for the sweetwater exclusive fender tweed blues jr. I wanted an amp that I could use in multiple applications like recording, small-medium gigs, and practice at home. I have neighbors and this amp can run really quiet if needed and can get loud enough to cut through a mix in a band setting. I wouldn't say it's the lightest amp but it's lighter than a lot of amps that are similar. Feels sturdy and the tweed looks excellent. Sounds great with pedals too.

Fantastic

Probably the best version of the Blues Junior ever made. The Sonic Blue with the Cannabis Rex speaker is great as well.

I'm using a Bonsai in the front of this and it growls. It can sound like a Marshall with volume up and master down.

It doesn't sound nasally or boxy like the BJIII. That amp sounded like it had a blanket over it and I could not dial it out. Not this version. It has clarity and sounds bigger. The reverb however has been toned down considerably. Not a deal breaker unless you're in a Dick Dale cover band. In which case you'd get reverb pedal.

In the 90's I used the MIA Jr when I was a working musician. This amp brings me full circle.

It's fantastic.
Music background: 30 years. Played clubs, bars, weddings and brothels.
