A Great Way to Start Rocking

The Ibanez GRGM21M MiKro Series guitar is a perfect choice for any budding guitarist looking for an inexpensive electric guitar built for smaller hands and shorter arms. And Sweetwater guitarists like to travel with it too! This undersized axe doesn't just look cool with its exciting colors and unmistakable RG body style, but it also plays the part. The GRGM21M sports a pair of Infinity R humbuckers, which give you thick and punchy tone that's perfect for rock and metal. A thin, short-scale neck and medium-gauge frets ensure that anyone will enjoy playing the Ibanez GRGM21M.

A duo of Infinity R pickups gives you massive tonal range

Loaded with a duo of Infinity R humbuckers, the Ibanez GRGM21M yields a range of impressive tones. The neck position humbucker is voiced for warmer, richer tone, while the bridge humbucker is a brilliant lead pickup: vibrant yet snarling with an enhanced midrange output when you push it. If you're after maximum tonal tenacity, the Ibanez GRGM21M will give your amplifier what you need.

Comfortable short-scale neck

A guitar is only as playable as its neck — good thing the Ibanez GRGM21M has a smooth and fast-playing maple neck. This comfortable short-scale neck is capped by a maple fingerboard with a super-flat 15.7" radius and 24 medium frets, giving you the agility to execute fast single-note runs with ease.

Enjoy the tuning stability benefits of a hardtail bridge

Dive-bombs can be fun, but many guitarists prefer the absolute stability of a hardtail bridge — legions of ace guitarists won't go anywhere near a whammy bar. If you're in this camp, then the Ibanez GRGM21M is your kind of axe. The GRGM21M's fixed bridge anchors the strings, giving you a rock-solid platform for your music.

Ibanez GRGM21M Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • An ideal guitar for young or traveling players
  • Humbucking pickups deliver quintessential rock and metal tone
  • Undersized body and 22"-scale neck are perfect for shorter arms
  • Medium frets provide easier fretting for smaller hands
  • Also great for use when traveling light or busking

OMG

I knew this was gonna be fun, but... wow. I imagine its what Jimi Hendrix (or any other guitarist with huge hands) must have felt like with a normal size guitar in their hands.
The Ibanez is built really well. Intonation is great. I want to buy a mini bass now.

Great for my son

I bought this for my 5 year old son. It's not too big. Good quality and sounds fantastic! He loves it. I've had fun playing it too.

Amazing for the price

I bought this guitar to satisfy my curiosity. I've owned several Ibanez guitars over the years ranging from mid-priced to made-in-Japan Prestige models costing thousands of dollars. They've all been exceptional guitars for their respective price points, so I wondered how good (or bad) the least expensive Ibanez could be. I'm astonished at what they were able to do on such a restrictive budget.

The paint is phenomenal. I can't find any flaws, and it looks as rich and deep as my more expensive guitars. The frets are definitely sharp on the ends, but there's almost no noticeable grittiness when bending, which is not something I can say of any of my other less expensive guitars. The nut is cut correctly, and even with virtually no neck relief and a fairly low action there's no buzzing anywhere on the neck.

As is usually the case, the cost savings comes in the hardware. The tuners are a bit inconsistent, the pickups are mediocre (but better than some I've heard on more expensive guitars), and they used a fixed bridge instead of a tremolo. But that is a boon for beginners and students since there's less setup and maintenance and they can easily tune down half a step or to Drop D, etc. Interestingly, they also took the Fender route to cost savings: to the best of my knowledge, this is the only Ibanez electric without an angled headstock, and the maple fingerboard and pickguard also reduce manufacturing costs.

My hat is off to Ibanez for making a great student guitar at an affordable price. I wish guitars like this had been available when I learned to play.
