Classic tone in a no-frills pickup
The solo single-coil pickup in the Esquire features a 3-way pickup selector that lets you dial in a variety of sounds. Throw the selector all the way forward and you bypass the tone control while retaining volume control. This forward position offers a lighter, strum-friendly tone. The middle position activates both tone and volume for a warmer tone, great for lead or chords. In the back position, you again bypass the tone control and get a lot more high end and punch for sustaining leads.
Vintage neck
The "C"-profile maple neck has been cut to a hefty 9.5-inch radius — another true-to-the-original feature that makes this vintage send-up a real treat to play. The Indian laurel fingerboard features 21 narrow-tall frets for comfortable chording and lead runs. Not to mention, the Esquire's period-accurate, 3-saddle, string-through-body bridge enhances sustain and improves intonation.
